Privacy Policy

Proper operation of the http://us.BUUUZ.com site (hereinafter referred to as "BUUUZ" or "the site") involves dealing with your private information. This Privacy Policy outlines the information that is collected from you as well as how this information is handled.

Some of your personal information is transmitted to third parties so that BUUUZ and/or these third parties can use it. By accepting the Terms of Use of BUUUZ, you agree to allow BUUUZ to use and share some of your personal information with third parties in accordance with and within the limits of this Privacy Policy. In the 30-day period immediately following the modification of this policy, you have the right to withdraw from using the services provided by BUUUZ. During this 30-day period, you may notify us of your refusal to adhere to these changes, in which case the contract will cease to be valid, and therefore your right to use BUUUZ will be revoked.

1. Collection of Personal Information

In order to operate the BUUUZ site, we collect and store the following information on our servers located in the United States:

  • To use BUUUZ, you must complete an online registration form that includes your email address, username and password. After a free 3-month trial period, you must also pay an annual subscription via PayPal, SMS or credit card.
  • We automatically capture certain data related to your browsing behavior on BUUUZ such as connection information, statistics on page views, and traffic to and from BUUUZ. You are free to decline our cookies if your browser permits, although doing so may interfere with accessing our site.
  • We also store other information, which includes your IP address and standard web log information.
  • We also collect and store information posted in public or private messages.

When you use BUUUZ, you may add, change or remove information from your personal profile, add or remove people from your lists of contacts, favorite users and blacklisted users, and send or receive messages. We collect this information in order to assure proper functioning of the site.

We can also maintain a personal file about you, which contains the correspondence you send us (mail and e-mail) or any correspondence from other users or third parties about your activities on BUUUZ.

2. Use of Personal Information

We use the collected personal information for the following:

  • To ensure the site runs smoothly.
  • To promote a safe Web environment, dispute resolution, as well as rule and regulation enforcement. If required, we can use your personal information to detect users operating under several identities or aliases.
  • To improve our services: learn from our users’ experience, measure interests in our services and inform our users about our services and service updates.

3. Disclosure of Your Personal Information

BUUUZ is a social networking site that allows you to share information with other users who share your interests while maintaining your privacy and hiding your profile information and messages from users who do not share your interests. As part of the normal operation of the site, users with common interests are allowed to view the following information from other users who share their interests:

  • username;
  • user’s description;
  • user’s picture or avatar; and
  • list of common topics.

You can modify, add or delete islands and/or island keywords at any time, and as such, the number of users who share your interests will vary. When creating new islands or adding new keywords, only the contacts that share your interests at that time will be able to send you messages, read your messages or view your profile. Users cannot read messages written by other users prior to the creation of common islands or keywords and users cannot view the profiles of other users who used to share common interests but removed their own islands or keywords prior to the creation of the “would-be” common islands or keywords.

When using BUUUZ, you may decide to send private messages, send public messages and/or post a profile picture or avatar. This information along with your username and user description will be shared with third parties in accordance with the type of message you select (i.e., public or private message, anonymous sender, etc.). All such sharing of information is done at your own risk and your disclosed personal information (in your profile, messages, picture or avatar) may become publicly available.

BUUUZ offers tutorial videos that offer a glimpse of what the site has to offer. Such videos may display limited personal information (e.g., profile pictures, usernames, public messages) from select users. The information displayed in these tutorials is offered for educational purposes only and may change at any time.

As a general rule, we don't sell or rent your personal information to third parties. However, your personal information could be disclosed in the following precise circumstances:

  • To respond to legal requirements, enforce our policies, respond to claims that a user’s profile or message(s) violate the rights of others, or protect anyone's rights or safety.
  • We can also disclose this information to service providers who help with our business operations.

4. Use of Personal Information Collected on BUUUZ

As mentioned previously, when users share common interests, they will be able to see each other’s username, user’s description and picture as well as a list of subjects that they have in common.

You can only use this personal information to communicate about your common interests and you cannot send spam, send other unsolicited e-mail messages or collect personal information from a person who hasn’t specifically granted you permission to do so. Furthermore, you cannot disclose another user’s personal information to any third party without BUUUZ and the user’s consent. Any improper collection or misuse of information provided on BUUUZ is a violation of our Terms of Use and must be reported to abuse@buuuz.com.

If you receive spam, please use the “junk” barrel icon on the spam message or report it to us by sending an email to abuse@buuuz.com.

5. BUUUZ Users

BUUUZ does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to register. No one under the age of 13 may attempt to register for BUUUZ or provide any personal information on BUUUZ.

In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from children under the age of 13 without permission from their parents or legal guardians, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that we have any information from or about children under the age of 13, please contact us at contact@buuuz.com.

We recommend that minors over the age of 13 ask their parents or legal guardians for permission before creating a profile on BUUUZ and sending any information about themselves to anyone on BUUUZ.

6. Security

You are responsible for all actions taken with your username and password, including but not limited to paying annual subscriptions, and posting pictures and messages on BUUUZ. Therefore, you must never disclose your password to anyone. If you lose control of your password, you may lose substantial control over your personal information and may be subject to legally binding actions taken on your behalf.

You should be aware that BUUUZ will never ask you to provide personal information such as your password, credit card number, PayPal password or bank account number in e-mail correspondence. If you receive an e-mail request to update such information, please contact us at abuse@buuuz.com before replying to the message and providing your personal information.

If your password becomes known to anyone, you should immediately change it by logging into your account and clicking on “About Me”.

BUUUZ was created to only allow users with common interests to meet and interact in a safe and friendly online environment. We use several tools (i.e., encryption, passwords, physical security, etc.) to protect your personal information against unauthorized access and disclosure. However, as you probably know, perfect protection doesn’t exist. BUUUZ cannot control the actions of other users with whom you choose to share information. Therefore, we do not guarantee that your personal information will always remain private.

BUUUZ and its affiliates are not responsible for circumvention of any security measures contained on the site. You understand and acknowledge that, even after removal of your profile and messages, copies of your shared information may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or if other users have copied or stored your information.

7. Cyber Law and Freedom

You have the right to access, change and oppose any information that concerns you.

You can review or change your personal information by logging into your account and clicking on “About Me”. Your information will be updated immediately. You can delete your profile by logging into your account, clicking on “About Me” then clicking on “Delete my profile”. However, all private and public messages that you have sent from your account will not be erased by deleting your profile. We maintain some of your personal information on file in order to exclusively resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems and enforce our Terms of Use. We can also keep on file the information related to the enforcement of a contract during a certain time period in order to prevent fraud and to meet all legal requirements. Therefore, for technical and system backup reasons, some of your personal information will be kept on file after receiving your request to delete such information so that we can meet all applicable legal requirements. However, your personal information will no longer be accessible online.

If the entire or substantial ownership of BUUUZ were to change, your user information may be transferred to the new owner so the service can continue operations. In any such transfer of information, your user information would remain subject to the promises of our then current Privacy Policy.

8. Exemptions from Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy does not apply to any information you may send to BUUUZ by email or instant messaging programs (i.e., AOL, Yahoo, etc.), as email and instant messages are not recognized as a secure communication forms. As such, we request that you do not send any information, which you consider private, to us by email or instant message. BUUUZ contains links to other websites and we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such websites.
